Message From Ms. Hampton

Greetings Slover Families and Community!

Wow…does time fly or what? We are already close to the end of the school year and time does not seem to be slowing down at all. Both students and staff are working hard and coming back to in-person learning has proved to be exactly what we all needed. Students are coming to school, working to their full potential, and earning credits. Their behavior has been amazing and you can really see that they have enjoyed their time here at Slover. Likewise, staff is working diligently to make sure students are successful and have an educational environment where they are able to thrive academically and social-emotionally.

Graduation is about a month a half away! Please continue to encourage your students to come to school on time, get their work completed, ask questions if they have them, attend before and after school tutoring, advocate for themselves by talking with their teachers, and take advantage of Saturday Academy. We are looking forward to seeing them walk across the stage in June. Juniors should continue to pass their classes and take advantage of the opportunities they have to get assistance should they need it. Many are planning to continue their studies here at Slover while some will be returning back to their high school. They must be caught up on their credits in order to return back. Please encourage them to continue getting to school on time each and every day so they can pass classes and complete the necessary credits.

During the course of this school year, we have had tremendous WINS and this is because of the students, staff, and the SUPPORT OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS/CARETAKERS. We had a great visit from CCEA in the Fall and have been recognized as a 2002 CA Model Continuation High School by the California Department of Education.. We also just found out that we will be recognized for our Athletics Program and our implementation of PBIS on campus, rewarding students for their awesomeness - being Respectful, Optimistic, Accountable, and Resilient. Additionally, in April, we had a successful WASC Mid-Cycle Visit in which the committee was impressed with our school program and our efforts in continuing to improve academics and social-emotional supports for our students. We will also be recognized by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools for all of the accomplishments we have received this school year.

As you can see, we’ve had a great year and it truly takes all of us working together to make Slover what it is. Students and staff feel Slover is a family-like community where everyone belongs. Thank you for your continued support! It means a great deal to all of us. I am honored to be the Principal at such an amazing school, working alongside individuals who genuinely care about the well-being of students–beyond academics. They show day after day that “You can’t spell Slover without L-O-V-E!” I hope you all stay well and feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Let’s end this year strong!

Sincerely,

Tiffany Hampton
